Sitting on clifftops above the harbour town of Monopoli, this smart, modern home offers some of the best sea views anywhere on the Apulian coast. From the huge rooftop terrace, pretty much all you can see is blue. Here you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the shade of a huge parasol. There’s a barbecue, obviously, but because it's a trek down to the main kitchen, you'll also find a second lounge and kitchenette on the roof, opening directly to the outside space. While there is plenty to see in Monopoli itself, from the bobbing yachts in the harbour to the array of restaurants and bars, you shouldn’t miss an opportunity to head to Alberobello. Less than half an hour away by car or taxi, its conical stone farmworkers' huts are known as trulli homes and are considered so important it's become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
