While this villa’s beauty speaks for itself, we can’t help but boast about its fab features and accolades. Located in Vryses, Crete, this home was named one of Europe's 50 Best Villas by The Sunday Times. Set among rolling hills teeming with olive and cypress trees, its simple stone exterior makes way for a modern, comfortable interior with plenty of traditional charm. Exposed beams, an open fireplace and an earthy palette create a warm welcome in the living room while the master bedroom with its canopy bed and the green-accented second bedroom with its decorative alcoves feel rustic and indulgent in equal measure. We would be remiss not to mention the bathroom too, with its rainfall shower, cosmic stip lighting and spa-like serenity. Outside, a picturesque private pool framed by sofas, sun-loungers and a ping-pong table invites plenty of fun and relaxation, while the Cretan oven and barbecue provide the makings for an elaborate al fresco feast beneath the pergola. Venture out from your private oasis and you’ll find sandy Georgioupolis beach just ten-minutes away by car, and traditional tavernas, five-minutes away, shaded by plane trees along the Vryssano River.

About Kokkino Chorio

Wander along Kokkino Chorio’s picturesque streets, and you’ll soon see why this sleepy village played a starring role in the 1964 Academy Award-winning film ‘Zorba the Greek’. Even so, it wasn’t until recently that European tourists got wind of its seaside charm and began flocking to it in the warm, summer months, enjoying gorgeous views of Souda Bay and sampling local, Cretan cuisine at a handful of family-run tavernas.
