Welcome to the jungle – or at least, Mallorca's version of it. The craggy backbone of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage status for their untouched beauty – and nestled amongst the peaks and foliage, you'll find the sleepy little village of Fornalutx and this swoon-worthy villa. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Port de Sóller and the beach, this is the perfect spot to soak up the island's traditional atmosphere. This charming and rather unique place rises up from the lush greenery like an ancient temple – though we doubt many of those featured an enormous indoor pool, a spacious garden for you to bask in the sunshine, and a dining terrace with one of the best views we've ever seen. We're already picturing morning breakfasts on the terrace, afternoon swims in the pool and evening cocktails as the sun goes down over the village. Inside, it's just as lovely as its backdrop, with period features and antique furniture providing a quintessentially Mallorcan touch. We love the comfortable lounge area, with big sofas all centred around the stone fireplace, as well as the enormous bedrooms with roomy en-suites. But our favourite has to be... the double-height dining hall. With its chandelier and ornately-carved table, it's crying out for a formal family meal – come dinnertime, enjoy tapas, a bottle of wine and good conversation as the breeze blows through the French doors.
