In the charming village of Austwick, this cosy cottage is the perfect retreat after a day exploring the Yorkshire Dales right on your doorstep. Perfectly located, you'll find more picturesque walking trails nearby than you can shake a hiking pole at (maps can be picked up within the village). Alternatively, jump in the car and reach White Scar Cave in less than fifteen minutes or visit the beautiful glacial lake of Malam Tarn, only 7-miles from home. Back inside, the original wooden beams and stone fireplace will soon have you feeling all warm and relaxed. Sink into a brown chesterfield sofa, cradle a cup of hot cocoa, and settle down for a delightful evening in front of the crackling log burning stove – we can think of nothing better after an adventurous day wandering the natural landscape. In warmer months, sprawl out into the back garden and enjoy a bottle of fizz while overlooking views of the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. As dinner time arrives, ensure you take the short five-minute drive down to The Courtyard Dairy, where you can taste local cheeses and sample their cakes and buns while enjoying a cup of tea... or coffee. Return home with your top picks, and fix together a wine and cheese night in the country-style dining area. Or if you feel like handing over all catering duties during your stay, the cottage is next door to a traditional Yorkshire pub, while an award-winning hotel and restaurant is a short walk up the road.
