In the heart of the Highlands, this apartment is perfect for a retreat. Housed in a converted Benedictine monastery, you’ll be surrounded by 20 acres of gardens on the shores of Loch Ness. The home exudes Scottish hunting lodge vibes, with brown leather sofas and antler chandeliers in the living room, and tartan prints in the bedrooms. Spend memorable days exploring the lush outdoors – there’s a shared tennis court, communal swimming pool, orchard, cricket pitch, an adventure playground for kids, and even a life-sized chess set. Though it's all shared with other guests, that doesn't put a damper on the fun. And in the evenings play some billiards in the communal games room, where velvet purple furnishings and tall stained-glass windows make for a downright royal space.

But lingering a while in this small city has its rewards. Strolling between the willow trees on the banks of the River Ness and catching a glimpse of Inverness Castle is just one of those rewards....
