Only a twenty-minute drive from Weymouth and its award-winning sandy beach, this barn conversion is where country charm meets coastal flair. Lounge on the cosy L-shaped sofa and admire the views out of the big picture windows – they stretch down to Chesil Beach and on a clear day, you can even see Lyme Bay. In the mornings, step onto the sunny patio for an alfresco cup of coffee, slowly waking up in the fresh air. When you're fully caffeinated, head out for a walk along the shore or through the public footpaths – there's even a working farm next door, so this is truly a slice of rural life. Back at home, natural stone floors, vaulted ceilings and wood accents hark back the barn's roots, while the bright white walls, contemporary furniture and glossy kitchen are entirely modern. Speaking of, the Sandyford cooker is a dream – home chefs will love using it to rustle up a meal or two – but if you'd rather treat yourself to a pint and some delicious local fare, the village pub is a short walk away.
