Words can't describe how much we adore this cosy and characterful Cotswold cottage. Deep-set window seats, a crackling wood-burning stove, original flagstone floors, traditional honey-coloured stone walls – this former farm worker's home has oodles of charm to go around. Wake up to far-reaching views over the countryside in the upstairs bedroom, then pad down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast – the village shop down the road has plenty of fresh ingredients. On sunny days, take your fare into the rose-filled garden, watching as the world wakes up – if you're lucky, you may see a herd of deer or birds of prey in the neighbouring fields. Spend a chilled afternoon at home, working your way through the host's personal library, playing family board games or watching films on the DVD player in front of the fire. But if you're eager to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, don your walking shoes for a ramble through the rolling landscape – there are a number of walking paths on your doorstep. Blockley has a charming cafe and a traditional village pub, but Moreton-in-Marsh is a ten-minute drive away if you... want a bit more choice. Or speak to your host about organising unique experiences like cooking classes, personal chefs and at-home massages to make your Cotswolds getaway extra special.
