Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Like many cities across the world, New Orleans was faced with the question of what to do with its wealth of warehouses once its role as a major trade hub started to decline. Their solution? Turn the industrial parts of the city into trendy areas in which people would rush to live. This apartment in the Warehouse District helps you see one such reinvented neighbourhood. The interior will appeal to anybody with a penchant for clean, simple design. Large windows let natural light cascade into the space and also look out to views of the streets below. Though minimalism is the driving force, there are lots of eclectic little touches, such as the fringed mirror in the bedroom, the collection of framed prints and the statement light fixture over the glass dining table that all reward closer inspection. If it gets you in the mood to swan about an exhibition or two, there are six galleries to be found on nearby Julia Street, reached in three minutes on foot. Alternatively, Caesars Superdome is a quarter of an hour's walk away if you want to catch the New Orleans Saints in action.

About New Orleans
New Orleans is one lively city – whether we’re talking food, candy-coloured architecture or nightlife, there’s nowhere else in the United States – or even the world – quite like this Louisianan cultural mecca. You’ll find indigenous cuisine here that hybridizes Caribbean, African and European influences – so embrace your inner hedonist and dive head first into Gumbo, beignets and po’ boys. It’s a city where jazz is as prevalent...
