Sat right in the heart of Savannah's Historic District, the building in which this apartment is no youngster itself. Built back in 1860, it has served multiple purposes, but today it's a setting for a wonderful stay in this Georgian city. Apart from the exposed brickwork — since treated to a cleansing whitewash — there aren't many hints to the heritage of this address. Instead, what you'll find is a thoroughly modern interior, complete with sleek kitchen surfaces, a marble bathroom and rich wooden floorboards that catch the natural light from the tall windows exquisitely. Those that like to spend their afternoons studiously reading guidebooks for local history will love this location, as many of the city's mansions found nearby have been turned into museums and galleries. The Telfair Gallery is two minutes' walk away, for instance, while the birthplace of US Girl Scouts founder, Juliette Gordon Low, takes just six to reach.
