We love the bright, airy feel of this immaculate apartment, located right in the beating heart of Puente de Vallecas – one of Madrid’s most vibrant and diverse districts. But the real pièce de resistance of this stylish bolthole has to be the suntrap outdoor terrace, looking out above the rooftops of neighbouring buildings. Opening up the balcony door in the mornings with a coffee (a pod machine will help with that) as the streets of Madrid awaken below is quite something. It’s also a great space to come together in the evenings for a few pre-dinner drinks as dusk settles across the city. When it’s time to experience some culture and meet the locals, you’re perfectly placed here. Set back from the city’s central tourist traps, you'll find a more authentic neighbourhood feel here, with traditional tapas bars and restaurants to keep you watered and fed. Or nip across to your well-heeled neighbours in the Retiro district (forty minutes on foot). Home to the celebrated Prado Museum (think masterpieces from Velázquez, Goya, and Zurbarán) – and the iconic El Retiro Park with its scenic lakes and open-air cafes – you could easily while away an afternoon here. Or hop... on the metro station (five minutes away on foot) to unearth other corners of this enchanting city. Just think of the places you'll go.

About Atocha
When thinking of Atocha, the mammoth train station immediately comes to mind. While it’s a transport hub connecting Madrid to all others parts of Spain, its appeal lies in more than just logistics. The station itself is full of restaurants (some are the best in the area), and the sprawling streets around it will slowly lead to some of the best museums in town. Staying here will place you within walking distance of Prado, The Reina Sofia Museum, and Retiro Park.
