People can often be daunted when it comes to incorporating colour into interior design, but this Notting Hill apartment shows how it can be done without going over the top. The mustard and green furnishings in the living room are instantly uplifting and go nicely with the weathered wood of the coffee table. The addition of two arched window mirrors helps accentuate the plentiful amount of natural light that comes in through the large windows. Elsewhere, the kitchen in a deep shade of green has plenty of sleek surface space for preparing home-cooked dinners, while the bathrooms play it comparatively safer with the dazzlingly white tiles. The fact that we've got this far without mentioning the home's incredible location is a testament to the quality of the interior. The bottom of Portobello Road can be reached in ten minutes' walk, as can Holland Park and Kensington Gardens.

About Kensington
Affluent and incredibly central, Kensington is a great base for exploring London on foot. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are on your doorstep and so are the Victoria and Albert, Science, and Natural History Museums. The streets are attractive and well maintained (grand, white stucco facades aplenty) and your neighbours will be a wealthy, conservative set. Lots of positives but probably not the place to let your hair down.
