Freshly converted and as stylish as it gets, this Windermere retreat is a stone's throw from the heart of the town for those who want to be close to restaurants, pubs and shops, but still just a twenty-minute walk from the shores of Lake Windermere. The restored 'Victorian gentleman's residence' it's part of is a striking building, tucked away down a quiet, leafy lane and set within mature grounds. Now providing a number of self-contained, quality holiday homes, it's a gorgeous setting that's been modernised keeping the character of the home. Inside your apartment, you'll find an open-plan living space with high windows overlooking the lawn and a log burner for cosy nights in during the winter months. The kitchen is small but perfectly formed, with more than enough equipment for cooking at home during your break, and the elegant, herringbone wood floor adds a timeless charm. Elsewhere, the bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully furnished. The master stands out for its huge size and boasts a marble fireplace and seating area in front of its fabulous windows.

About The Lake District

Poets and novelists have often escaped to the Lake District for a spot of inspiration. Famously, Wordsworth pondered about daffodils and clouds during his time here. The undulating hills are tracked with drystone walls while sheep graze, and farmsteads enjoy untouched beauty for miles around. England’s biggest lake, Windermere, cuts through a valley, sleek as glass and hosts a litany of cosy-pub-filled towns and water sports venues along its shores....
