A favourite among the Edwardian upper classes who didn't have the time or inclination to travel as far as Bath, Maidenhead is on the up and up. The soon-to-open Elizabeth line will also make getting into London a breeze, with a forty-minute train ride landing you at Tottenham Court Road. Meanwhile, a visit to the nearby village of Bray is renowned for its Michelin-starred restaurants.
