Lachania beach is a mere 150 metres away, so one minute you can be swimming laps in the pool, then padding barefoot to the soft sand and saline waters of the Aegean Sea. If you want to explore further afield, the charming town of Lindos is a half-hour drive, where donkeys still clop up and down the narrow streets. Though there’s plenty to keep you occupied at this home. A delightful terrace is home to a swimming pool, sun loungers and sumptuous sofas beneath private verandas. Then there are the first-floor balconies with panoramic sea views and a real reminder of how close you are to the beach. A barrel barbecue can provide the alfresco dining option. Inside, you’ll find evidence of traditional Dodecanese architecture in exposed stone walls and stone-hewn showers in ensuites. There’s something of a boho-seaside touch to the design with exposed lightbulbs hanging from rope, tree-stump bedside tables and shell centrepieces, plus the odd Grecian urn a reminder of the ancient roots of Rhodes.
