As far as barn conversions go, this one is quite something. Lamps glowing like baubles suspended from the ceiling, exposed brickwork and wooden beams overhead – you can tell this place was created by an interior designer. The double-height of the ceiling makes it feel as though you’re in a cathedral, but with skylights letting the sunlight stream in. A striking fireplace takes centre-stage in the living room, and the long open-plan area is home to a sleek kitchen and banquet-length dining table too. At the end of the concourse, you’ll find a study area, brimming with coffee table books and a chessboard. Retreat to plush beds draped in faux-fur blankets for a sound sleep, but the real boon is the spa-like main bathroom with its Turkish hammam. The inside is stunning, but outside is just as good with a private hot tub tucked around the back and a place to relax beneath the pergola with a cold drink in hand. In terms of location, it’s a five-minute drive to the Georgian market town of Reepham, where you’ll find a handful of country pubs and buzzing cafés. Further afield, it’s a half-hour drive to Norwich and forty minutes to the empty... beaches of the Norfolk Coast.
