This light-filled Parisian apartment illustrates the power of exquisite craftsmanship and pared-back design to perfection. But we'd expect nothing less from a city bolthole found slap bang in the middle of happening Le Marais. Housed in a Hausmann building of high and mighty proportions, the designers have meticulously reimagined the space for modern living. Wake up in the boutique-feel bedrooms and fling back the Juliet balcony doors to peer down on the city's streets below, then kickstart your day beneath the terrazzo-clad rainfall showers. With each bedroom boasting an ensuite, there's no waiting around here. Then pad across the parquet flooring (heated in winter to keep things toasty) to the living area to fire up the coffee pod machine and hatch plans for your day ahead. Or you could just wing it and lose yourself to Le Marais' warren of narrow medieval lanes instead. Dotted with characterful bars, independent boutiques, artisan cafes, and art galleries, it's all going on here. But when it's time for a change of scene, the city's must-sees, including the Pont au Change and Louvre Museum, are all just a short jaunt away.
