Dating back to the 17th century, this historic chateau has been part of the owner's family for the past 400 years. Nestled in a village setting, you'll find it positioned just 5 kilometres away from the beautifully preserved town of Uzès. From the moment you step foot on the grounds of this charming setting, you'll soon see that the chateau has been restored with both class and style throughout. Elegant chandeliers, impressive artworks and a blend of antique furniture pieces with contemporary furnishings create a truly enchanting space that will have you feeling like royalty as you wake up here each day. The splendour doesn't stop with the interiors of the chateau ether, as the exterior presents utterly sublime gardens and terrace areas for guests to enjoy in the sunshine. On the main terrace, a swimming pool surrounded by wrought iron deck chairs offers a tranquil spot to relax with a holiday read in hand while soaking up some vitamin D. You'll also find a shaded terrace complete with a charcoal barbecue and pizza oven – perfect for relaxed evenings spent enjoying the castle. As you wander the gardens, listen to the trickle of the water fountain, smell the summer scents... fragranced by the roses, and eventually find a shaded spot under the century-old trees to enjoy a fine glass of Côtes du Rhône in serenity. Set just 5 kilometres away from the traditional village of Uzès, meander around the atmospheric, flower-filled lanes and pretty houses until you reach the village's little café and shop and church. Here you'll find a vibrant market on Saturday mornings, where you can pick up all sorts of local French delights. Head to the nearby Gorges du Gardon, just a ten-minute drive away, to enjoy a walker's paradise – you'll also be able to participate in canoeing, rock-climbing and mountain biking. Once you've had your dose of nature, discover the historic city and Roman monuments of Nîmes (a thirty-minute drive away) as well as the UNESCO World Heritage sights in Avignon (forty-five minutes away).

Host
This home is managed by Oliver
This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
