We're into the Scandi-inspired interiors of this Old Town apartment, but we love its location even more. Placed just a stone's throw from the Royal Mile, it's hard to imagine a better setting. Walk in the footsteps of Scotland's kings and queens with a visit to Edinburgh Castle (six minutes on foot). Marvel at the natural history wonders of Scotland at the National Museum, just across the street. Then see mother nature up close and personal with a hike up Edinburgh's volcano, Arthur's Seat (forty-minute walk) - the views over the city are awe-inspiring. When thoughts turn to food, you'll be well fed and watered in historical Grassmarket (five minutes on foot). The broad, open square is lined with buzzy restaurants and bars, including the city's oldest pub for a wee whiskey dram or three. Back at home, you'll find this apartment housed in a handsome neoclassical building of high and might proportions. While the giant windows and lofty ceilings remain, everywhere else is reimagined for modern living, with mid-century-inspired furniture and house plants creating a homey feel.
