France's Basque Country has a lot to offer. It's known for glitzy beach cities like Biarritz, but equally as a fantastic spot for surfing and watersports. But it’s not all about the delights of the coast. Slightly inland, a twenty-five-minute drive from the Grande Plage in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the mountains are a lesser-known side of the region – but that’s just what makes this home so special. The architect who designed this secluded villa clearly chose to make the most of its spectacular mountain setting. Surrounded by fertile lawns and thick woodlands, with hilly views for miles, this house is intertwined with nature. Natural stone walls and a classic terracotta roof create a rustic vibe from the outside, but stylish black columns and balconettes exude modernity. And it’s not without luxurious touches like a private, heated swimming pool. Surprises continue inside, where urban touches come into play. We love the industrial-style girders running across the open-plan living space, with minimalist sofas and black wooden floors adding to the vibe. But this theme doesn’t overpower the main event – arched windows, glass doors, and bedroom balconies ensure that you won’t miss a second of those mountain vistas.

Host
This home is managed by Oliver
This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
