The Dordogne is a truly unique region. There aren’t many places where lush greenery, rolling rivers, and thick forests have prehistoric cave paintings hidden away in their landscapes. A fifty-minute drive from the ancient art of Lascaux, this stone-built villa might not be as old, but certainly offers old-world character. Set in a garden full of native foliage and flowers, you can’t help but be drawn to its exteriors as soon as you arrive. At the centre, you’ll find a private, heated pool with sun loungers lining its terrace – the perfect spot for an afternoon glass of local Bergerac wine. Heat up the built-in barbecue while you head off to explore the interiors. Rural charm is the first item on the agenda. Chunky timber beams, vintage-style armchairs, and a glorious wood-burning fireplace in a stone inglenook – could it get any more rustic? The country kitchen is ideal for when your private chef pays a visit, especially as you’ve got two separate formal dining areas, plus an alfresco terrace. And luxe continues upstairs, where the main bedroom boasts its own jacuzzi in the corner (maybe you should let someone else keep an eye on the barbecue).

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay.
