SoCal vibes with a view of the Seine – this stunning riverside villa is located just 45km south of Paris, but you might as well be half a world away. Your host has turned his passion for design and eye for detail into creating this unique retreat. Extensive panes of glass, a gorgeous first-floor balcony and a south-facing aspect mean that the interior is flooded with light throughout the day. At the same time, jute rugs, a plethora of woven pendant lamps and cowhide armchairs lean into the California/frontier aesthetic. Elsewhere, a nautical-themed bar and turquoise kitchen evoke the ocean and long summer evenings surfing the perfect peeling right-handers down at Malibu. Down by the water's edge, you can spend sunny afternoons fishing in the river, playing table tennis, soaking in the hot tub and listening to music on the provided speakers. If you're willing to shatter the Californian illusion, the centre of Paris is only around forty minutes away. So you can be living it up on the west coast one minute and gazing at the Eiffel Tower or wandering past world-famous artworks at the Louvre the next.
