A former monastery for one of the oldest churches in Venice, this building is now home to a batch of cosy and characterful apartments. Head up to the first floor and you'll find this flat, where knotted wood beams, traditional Venetian terrazzo floors and vintage antiques all work together to create a charming place to rest your head. After a long day, sprawl out on the L-shaped sofa with a glass of Italy's finest wine before rustling up pasta or other nibbles in the small kitchen. Come bedtime, unwind with a soak under the lavish rainfall shower, then retire to the comfortable bedrooms for some well-deserved shut-eye. We love the views across to the Natural History Museum – it's practically your neighbour, so you'll be well-placed to explore all of Venice's hidden gems. It's about twenty minutes on foot to St. Mark's Square, ten to Campo San Polo and mere moments from excellent restaurants, bars and shops. Add in the short walk to the waterbus and train station, and we think this flat is hard to beat.

About Rialto
Rialto is right in the middle of Venice’s other main districts – it doesn't really get more central than this. It’s a favourite with tourists, particularly as its less hectic than San Marco (this is all relative though – everywhere in Venice is packed). It’s intersected by many small intertwining canals, which make for good views and plenty of opportunity for gondola rides, if that's your cup of tea. Perhaps...

While this is a fairly standard natural history museum, it's a great for children, and the dinosaur fossils are undeniably impressive.
