Cosy and characterful, this fetching cottage on the Norfolk coast has a storied past. Famed poet and hymnwriter William Cowper lived here for a spell, so if it's creative inspiration you're seeking, we think this will serve as the perfect muse. Much like a poet, we could spend ages waxing lyrical about this home. We're charmed by the brick and flint exterior, and that enchantment continues inside, where you'll find lovely stained glass windows, breezy high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. With fabulous garden views and comfortable furniture, each room exudes a homely atmosphere – and none more so than the lounge. Spend nippy days snuggling in front of the wood-burner with a good book, playing board games and piecing together puzzles. Meanwhile, sunny afternoons call for cocktails in the pretty garden – thanks to the high fences and grassy patch, it's ideal for four-legged family members, too. Come dinnertime, let your culinary skills run wild in the country-style kitchen – it has plenty of space and all the cookware you'll need to rustle up something tasty. Situated in the centre of Mundesley, all the village amenities you'd expect – be it shops, local cafes or pubs – are on your doorstep.... It's an easy five-minute stroll down to the Blue Flag beach, where you can dip your toes in the sand and watch the tide roll in. There are also some wonderful dog-friendly coastal walks nearby when you want to stretch your legs.
