Joan Didion once wrote of Malibu, stating that its very name is a ‘kind of shorthand for easy living’. While much has changed since the days Didion lived in a beach house nearby, this basic truth remains – and this beautiful and secluded home with access to a private beach is the perfect place to experience the ‘easy living’ for yourself. What could be more idyllic than stepping out onto a vast terrace directly facing the ocean, listening to the waves gently rolling in below and admiring the views of Catalina Island? Here, the ocean and sunshine are part of the décor – thanks to the huge windows, you’ll be able to catch the glimpse of them from every part of the house. Step inside and get immediately embraced by the warm and welcoming ambience – we love the light, comfy furnishings which invite you to kick off your shoes and relax with a good book (Didion?) and a glass of wine in hand. Rustle up delicious meals in the modern kitchen and enjoy them with your friends and family at the handsome dining table. To keep things cosy no matter the weather, there is also a charming fireplace here.... Step into the world of sweet dreams, courtesy of the bright and plush bedrooms, which carry the promise of restful sleep. Welcome a new day with a cup of coffee on the deck, where lush plants and comfy garden furniture will tempt you to pass those lazy afternoons with friends. There is even a fire pit here for those Malibu nights – why not do some stargazing or head down to the beach for a bonfire. During the day you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local activities – from surfing those world-renowned waves to kite surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing. If you're lucky, you'll spot dolphins playing in the water right in front of the house.
