Sitting at the bottom of the ski lift in the charming valley town of Sankt Georgen ob Murau, this chalet home puts the slopes of the Kreischberg Ski Area right on your doorstep. Head up the mountainside to tackle runs for all levels and pause for an aprés-ski in the restaurants and bars of the town before walking back to your family-sized home. A bubbling hot tub awaits on the terrace for a post-slope soak, perfect as the sky speckles with stars above you. There’s a covered outdoor lounge out here too, and a dining table for alfresco meals in summer. Or, step inside and indulge in a sauna session to relax ski-tired muscles. The open-plan living area makes for a social space for the group to gather, particularly cosy when there’s a fire going in the wood-burning stove in the centre of the room. A piano can provide the evening’s entertainment, or perhaps set up a board game at the big dining table. The kitchen is more than big enough to handle the bustle of family breakfast time before everyone clips into their heated ski boots (there’s a heated boot room) and heads up the mountainside again.
