If there’s one spot on earth you’ve got to experience at least once, it’s here, folks. Set within five acres of extraordinary boulder-strewn landscapes on the edge of the National Park (so close it’s officially the closest rentable cabin to the park), this place is out-of-this-world. Meticulously renovated throughout with a pared-back palette to blend with the rich natural surroundings, it’s all soft whites, warm wooden hues, and lofty gabled ceilings – just like you imagined your Californian desert retreat to be. And if you’re impressed with the living spaces, wait until you see the bedrooms with jaw-dropping views of the National Park through the magnificent floor-to-ceiling picture windows. Outside, take your pick from the nooks to soak up the vistas. Hop between the four-seater hot tub and cowboy-style tub for a post-hike soak. Sneak away to find a shady spot for a yoga session (the home has mats for guests to use). Beat the heat with a rejuvenating outdoor shower. Then keep the night flowing with a barbecue beneath the stars and drinks around the vast firepit. When you’re ready for some outdoor adventure, you’re just a two-minute drive from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, offering easy access to... trails and natural wonders that feel entirely your own. And you’re closer to civilisation than you think when it’s time to come back down to earth – Joshua Tree Village is just a five-minute drive away for a mooch about the shops and buzzy cafes.
