Formerly a grain silo, this extraordinary house is as unique and beautiful as its surroundings. Set on 170 acres of rolling green New England countryside, there are breathtaking views from all sides. Step inside to marvel at the architecture – hardwood floors and a wooden beamed roof house modern art, antique treasures and a design-led living area. There is a dedicated work space in a nook on the ground floor, and the kitchen is well stocked for whipping up home cooked meals. Upstairs on the mezzanine level there are two cosy bedrooms, and a chalet style bathroom with a huge bathtub for soaking in after the day’s activities. On sunny days, set out and explore your surroundings. Designed by a landscape architect, there is a beautiful sight at every turn. Head down to the circular wooden canopy for a picnic, or walk along the stream until you reach the lovely covered bridge. There is a private pond for swimming and kayaking, which is the perfect place to cool off after a walk through woodland and meadows. When you arrive back home, dine al fresco at the outdoor table, surrounded by picture-perfect scenery. The quaint town of Litchfield is an eleven... minute drive away, where you’ll find grocery stores, antiques shops, and galleries.

Urban highlights include the academic cities of Hartford and New Haven. Be sure to grab a pie from Frank Pepe Pizza, hailed by patrons as one of the best pizzerias in the United States. The areas around Yale University provide some incredible eats,...
