Sitting on the right-hand side of the Tiber, the neighbourhood of Trastevere is an inimitable mix of history and character, much like this apartment. The building in which it sits dates back to the 14th century, although you wouldn't be able to guess that age from the fresh design of the interior. In the main living space, a colour palette of neutrals makes the room feel bright and inviting, while there are brighter tones in the bedrooms that lend a sense of personality. When it comes to dinners, guests are treated to two kitchen spaces — a wooden-panelled room that doubles up as a dining area and an adjoining room with an induction cooker. If rather than cooking, however, you fancy familiarising yourself with Roman cuisine, there's a huge choice of restaurants in the surrounding area. The city's famous attractions are not too far away, either — the Pantheon takes just over a quarter of an hour on foot to reach, while the Colosseum takes about double that.
