About Montparnasse & Catacombs
This part of town is mostly residential but works well as a base for exploring the charms of the nearby 6th and the 7th arrondissements. It was famously home to a community of prominent twentieth-century artists and intellectuals - Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso to name a few. Parc Montsouris is one of the city's most colourful public spaces and well worth seeking out. Be sure to check out the Roman Catacombs too if you're of the morbid disposition - stacks of skulls and bones await you!

Play the artist at La Closerie des Lilas
A favourite with Paris' art scene since its opening in 1847, La Closerie des Lilas serves great seafood dishes.
Wander through the Luxembourg Gardens
A beautifully diverse park with English and French gardens, apple orchards and greenhouses full of orchids and roses.
Have an American brunch at Coffee Club
A vintage and cosy brunch spot perfect for a carb-loaded American-style breakfast or even just a coffee.
Go beer tasting at l'Académie de la Bière
The art of beer has been studied down to a tee at l'Académie de la Bière with 12 beers on tap that change regularly and over 100 bottled beers including IPA's and Trappist brewers.
Slurp on noodles at My Noodles
It's fascinating to watch the chef pull and shape the restaurant's noodles from the entrance. Everything on the menu is homemade and we personally recommend the spicy beef lamen and the Pekin ravioli.
Have a break at Café de la Nouvelle Mairie
This café is open all day long and is perfect for a break in the sun after a morning of sightseeing. They also have a great natural wine list and a selection of seasonal dishes.
Admire the Celestial Globe of the Jardin Marco Polo
Take a walk around the garden of Paris Observatory
Enjoy dinner at Les Papilles
This authentic bistro serves classic French cuisine with a menu that changes every day without exception. It gets pretty crowded, but that only adds to the charm of this restaurant.
Visit the Musée Zadkine
A stone's throw from the Jardin du Luxembourg, this former workshop, turned museum exposes the work of the Russian sculptor Ossip Zadkine who gifted his works to the city.
Try Chinese ravioli at Maison du Dim Sum
Maison du Dim Sum specialises in those melt in the mouth parcels of goodness with vegetarian, prawn, squid and pork fillings. They can be served steamed, sautéed or grilled.
Learn about the famous couple at the Musée Curie
Close to your apartment is this museum focusing on the famous couple Pierre and Marie Curie. An amazing place that is worth a visit.
