A sixteen-minute drive from the city of Cheltenham, which straddles the border of Gloucestershire’s vast ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, this cottage sits pretty in the village of Winchcombe. It’s exactly what you’d hope for in a Cotswolds dream – welcoming pubs, quaint churches, and striking natural beauty surrounding it all. From the River Isborne to the gardens of Sudeley Castle just a nineteen-minute stroll away, you’ll quickly start to understand how the region got that AONB title. After spending a bright morning hiking through spectacular countryside, returning home to your traditional stone cottage is a real treat. Its sash windows and grey wooden door create that picturesque exterior that feels unique to English villages. Stepping inside, tradition continues in the way of timber beams, antique furnishings, and an iron wood-burner to keep you warm on winter evenings. Cosy and colourful, the living space is truly the heart of the home – except in the summer. Outside on your lush lawn, thick patches of flowers and foliage create a secluded spot for balmy afternoons while birds sing above you. The patio plays host to an alfresco dining area and barbecue, which can only be improved with the addition of a gin and... tonic.
