Elevated high above the River Dart, this house is as beautiful as the view from its windows. Set across three floors, the open plan ground floor features a cosy living room, leading to an ornate fireplace and a dining table next to large panelled windows, so you can admire the picturesque view over breakfast. The front door leads out onto a sun-soaked deck, complete with a wooden table and a barbecue – the perfect place for long alfresco lunches and sunset drinks with panoramic vistas of the river. Each bedroom is cosy and characterful, with nautical artwork and light wooden furniture. There are plenty of activities for all ages on your doorstep. For a Devonshire classic, head to the banks of the river for a spot of crabbing, and then grab fish and chips from the award-winning local chippy a nine-minute walk from the house. When the sun shines, Devon’s beaches could be Mediterranean. The wide expanses of Blackpool Sands can be reached in ten minutes by car, where you can enjoy a day of splashing in the sea and building sandcastles. There are many boat and ferry trips up the River Dart – your hosts are happy to recommend... you some excellent day trips as well as tips on the best walks and other excursions. Dartmouth is a twelve-minute walk away, where you’ll find top seafood restaurants and laid-back country pubs.

Guests will need to climb steps here – there are a number of external steps from the road, and three further steps from the deck to the front door
This home is set across three levels – the main suite is on the second floor, with the two other bedrooms and family bathroom on the first floor
Parking is not provided here, although there is some unrestricted parking around Dartmouth and other short-term bays available for you to unload – during the off-season, the bays are not time-restricted
This area is very steep and access into Dartmouth involves uneven stairs – we wouldn’t suggest this area for those with limited mobility
You won't find a manual or handbook for this home, but your host should be on hand if you have any issues
