Directly facing the historic Ortigia market, this beautifully curated apartment offers a symphony for the senses, all while providing a design-led space that’s as chic as it is comfortable. Housed in an early 20th-century building, you’ll immediately be immersed in the colours, scents and sounds of local Ortigian life from the home’s beautiful balconies – allowing you to people-watch over a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of red, courtesy of the home's wine cellar. We love the blend of old meets new that gives this home such a singular feel. Many of the home’s original features remain, with high ceilings, decorative mouldings and colourful tiles sitting alongside bespoke contemporary details, like designer lighting, polished concrete accents and handcrafted furniture. There’s an abundance of natural light here too thanks to the French doors, allowing the sunlight to cast its glow across the interiors’ greys, pinks, reds and blues that recall the lively hues of the market just outside. Speaking of the market, you won’t be able to resist cooking up a homemade Sicilian feast with fresh produce in the blush kitchen, or alternatively, asking your host to organise a private cooking course and a tour of the local area. When... you’re ready to venture further afield for some exploring, you’ll find the Cathedral of Syracuse an eight-minute walk away, Fontana di Diana a six-minute stroll and Arethusa Spring ten minutes away on foot. You’re also a twelve-minute walk from Cala Rossa Beach, while Castello Maniace is twenty minutes on foot from your door.
