Positioned overlooking a verdant valley on the eastern edge of the spectacular Blackdown Hills AONB, this breathtaking Grade II-listed farmhouse dates back to the 16th century. With five bedrooms, an acre of private garden and far-reaching views over the protected landscape, you'll have plenty of space to enjoy spending time together or appreciate a secluded corner of the historic house alone, setting the scene for an idyllic getaway with family and friends. The interior retains plenty of period charm, with ancient oak beams and an ornate carved Tudor mantel framing the inglenook fireplace in the spacious living room. Explore a contemporary kitchen with a sleek design and expansive southwest-facing balcony. We can think of little better than sipping a glass of crisp white as the sun sinks below the horizon, with dinner simmering away in the background. While you enjoy a quiet moment of reflection to yourself, the large terraced garden has plenty to keep the kids entertained, with a table tennis table, swing set, volleyball net and even a treehouse that looks out over the outdoor dining area. Beyond your picturesque valley setting, the stunning shingle beaches of the Jurassic Coast are approximately twenty minutes' drive away. Enjoy a day of paddling... and picnicking while your children scour the beach for prehistoric fossils scattered along this stretch of coast. And if the weather's not up to it, we'd recommend lolloping around Lyme Regis, with its bustling harbour, cool cafes and independent shops.
