The majestic mountain views of Cadair Idris took our breath away when we visited this secluded home. Clad in Virginia creeper that turns a stunning fiery red in the autumn, this cottage, surrounded by farmland, is as pretty as a picture. It’s a paradise for bird watchers with an array of wildlife, or if you’re a fan of planes, you can enjoy watching them from the garden as the valley is a training area for aircraft. When night falls do a spot of star gazing here, the dark skies reveal a multitude of sparkling jewels. The incredible vistas can be enjoyed from inside too, or gather around the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace when the weather turns chilly. Out and about, explore Snowdonia National Park, including Dolgellau, a fifteen-minute drive. Or, for a day by the coast, head to Tywyn on Cardigan Bay, around thirty minutes in the car.
