On the way to Clywedog Reservoir, this cosy cottage lies just off the mountain road in the lovely market town of Llanidloes. A spectacular opportunity for stargazers, we highly recommend driving out to the Dark Sky Discovery Sites in Elan Valley. During the daytime, see if you can spot the local wildlife among this sprawling greenery – including buzzards and red kites. Alternatively, pick from one of thirty walking trails through the fantastical Hafren Forest. There's no denying that this bright home balances indoor-outdoor living beautifully, as it overlooks the Clywedog Valley. Wake up in an earth-toned bedroom and stretch your legs outside. Then, wander into the kitchen and put the kettle on for breakfast. Slow mornings are made easy when you have a bookshelf waiting by your log burner. Later in the day, you may want to dine alfresco on this private patio. Be sure to toast a happy holiday with a glass of Welsh whisky as the sun goes down.
