The views over Grasmere Lake, and to the fells beyond from this sympathetically converted stone barn’s designated patio are breathtaking. Enjoy them from the picnic bench with a glass of wine – we didn’t want to leave this spot. Heading back through the barn doors reveals a spacious open plan living space with characterful beams and plenty of roof lights flood this charming space with light. Choose a book from the cute nook and relax on the comfy sofa. This place is the perfect Cumbrian retreat for a family or friends. The village of Grasmere is just over one mile away, where you’ll find Dove Cottage, the National Trust's Allan Bank and other attractions to enjoy. Practical amenities in Grasmere include a local shop, pharmacy, post office and a choice of eateries and pubs

Local guide
About The Lake District
Poets and novelists have often escaped to the Lake District for a spot of inspiration. Famously, Wordsworth pondered about daffodils and clouds during his time here. The undulating hills are tracked with drystone walls while sheep graze, and farmsteads enjoy untouched beauty for miles around. England’s biggest lake, Windermere, cuts through a valley, sleek as glass and hosts a litany of cosy-pub-filled towns and water sports venues along its shores....
