Take things easy on one of two gorgeous balconies belonging to this dream of an apartment a short walk from central Florence. With views across the rooftops to the green hills, it's just about 50 metres from Ponte Viejo and Piazza Pitti. A romantic retreat for two at the top of a traditional building, it's bright, neatly laid out and super comfortable. In the summer months, all you'll need is the small but practical kitchen, the outdoor dining table – shaded from the sun with an awning – and the squashy outdoor corner sofa. Grab some fresh bread, olives and a glass of something chilled, and watch the sun go down over this historic city.
