Beautifully appointed, this rural cottage is undoubtedly one of the more romantic and charming homes in our Italian selection. Overlooking the stunning Tuscan archipelago and coast below, you'll be swimming under the olive trees, sipping vino in the hot tub, and dining alfresco long into the warm evenings, all while taking in breathtaking vistas over the valleys and green fields. This home conquers indoor-outdoor living, with shutters and doors opening up the interior to the sprawling garden, patio and furnished terraces – we simply couldn't think of a better place to relax and align with the slow pace of nature. Inside, the country-style kitchen allows you to prepare simple meals under the wooden beams, while keeping warm by the crackling fire – there's even a small cellar for you to taste the local wines and typical products of the area. Beyond this homey paradise, the little village of Metato is full of life's simple joys and pleasures. Wander through the cobbled streets and follow the walking paths for some amazing overviews of the mountain peaks. Take a short drive to the striking cities of Lucca (thirty minutes) and Pisa (fifty minutes), known for their beautiful churches, historical buildings, bridges, and palaces.... And, when you're ready for a change of scenery, pack your seaside essentials and make haste for the coastal town of Pietrasanta. The medieval town, filled with art galleries, restaurants, and little coffee shops for people-watching in the Piazza Duomo, is just a twenty-five-minute drive from your doorstep.
