About Canonbury
Canonbury is one of the most friendly and unpretentious pockets of Islington, packed full of gorgeous period houses, independent cafes and antique shops. Extremely well connected transport-wise by the Victoria Line from Highbury and Islington station, it works well as a base to explore both Central London and more villagey areas like Stoke Newington further to the East. You'll be rubbing shoulders with trendy media types and affluent young families and working out how to move here long-term yourself.

This family-run Italian restaurant also contains a deli - the pizzas are delicious, and there's plenty of food for vegetarians. It's also worth picking up breakfast pastries.

Discover flaky heaven at Pophams
Pophams is a real find. Located on a quiet street in Islington, they produce the flakiest pastries in London and incorporate some unusual flavours too. Coffee is from Ozone and is just as well made.
