Overlooking the river from the banks of the Arno, this Florence apartment is all about the view. And the outdoor seating gives you ample opportunity to appreciate it from a shady spot. But, it's worth noting you'll have to earn those views by climbing five flights of stairs up to the apartment. Still, it's cosy and the building peaks and spires across the river are still visible even from inside the living room. Though the traditional style here might not appeal to everyone, the location is hard to resist. Walk to the Uffizi Gallery to start your love affair with Renaissance art and make a scenic crossing over the Ponte alle Grazie - both are minutes away.

Home truths
Parking in Florence can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible.
There are five flights of stairs to climb here.
It's possible you may hear some noise from neighbours during your stay, as well as noise from the street .
The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts. While we love the overall design of this home, the second bedroom is lacking in natural light.
Because of its location by the river, mosquitos are to be expected. You might want to pack a repellent.
Well-behaved pets may be allowed to join you. Speak to your host before booking.

About Santa Croce
Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre. The largest crowds have thinned out by this point, but if you stay here, you're still close enough to explore the whole city on foot....

Dine at La Buchetta Food & Wine
A cosy, old-timey bistro serving traditional dishes with an extensive wine list. Friendly staff, delicious food, and great value for its quality.
