While you can find plenty of Bajan homes that are classical in style, there aren't too many that look to modernism for inspiration – that's what makes this striking home built by a local architect half a century ago and recently renovated all the more special. Inside, you'll find high vaulted ceilings, spiral staircases and a soothing colour palette of bright whites and neutrals. The taste in furnishings is understated but chic, while the kitchen packed full of appliances and bathrooms both lie on the contemporary end of things. This being the Caribbean, you're probably wondering what's happening outside. Well, the swimming pool in the middle of the gardens is sure to be appreciated during the summer months, as will the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table and barbecue ready for feasts. In the local area, it'll take you all of two minutes on foot to reach the nearest beach and there are a couple of seafront restaurants to be discovered a little further on. For a wider choice, the island's capital – Bridgetown – is a twenty-minute-or-so drive.
