The approach to this beautiful home is a long driveway planted with hundreds of cypress trees. When you reach the end, you’ll see the colonial-style villa, which sits amid a wealth of flowers and Mediterranean fruit trees. On your way to the house, take your pick of figs, plums, lemons and oranges from the sweet-scented garden. Make your way past the fountains and the bocce court to the poolside. The swimming pool sparkles in the sunshine and is oh-so-inviting in the heat. At night, it’s atmospherically lit up, which makes an evening swim all the more romantic. Alongside the pool is a magnificent arched veranda. This is where you’ll dine in the fresh air, and enjoy the garden views from the shade. There are secluded corners in the garden for you to discover, with rocking chairs and ocean views. We love how sprawling and rural this home feels – you can completely relax here. That said, the villa is actually in a remarkably convenient location. The historic town of Estoi is just one kilometre away, and it takes fifteen minutes to reach the nearest beach. A short drive to Santa Barbara de Nexe gives you plenty of restaurants to choose...

Barely touched by tourism, a picturesque central plaza dotted with a handful of cafes and restaurants is the hub of the town. Beyond that, there's little sightseeing here besides a few museums mapping the town's beginnings as a cork producer – but...
