Once the residence of prominent journalist and politician Corneliu Coposu, this apartment on the outskirts of Bucharest’s Old Town retains all the splendour of its heyday. The dining room shimmers with gold touches and the floral archways in the living room are reminiscent of the late 19th century, but everything has a sleek and modern edge to it. Indeed, this place was fully renovated in 2021, so expect mod cons in the powder pink and blue kitchen and state-of-the-art bathrooms. There’s room for the whole group to gather in the resplendent dining room and the curved, scalloped sofa is not only easy on the eye, but it’s big enough for a family of four to cuddle up. Then there are the bedrooms, with plush velvet headboards and striking feature walls that belie the apartment’s grand history. You’re in the centre of the city here, with the grand streets of the old town to explore. Here, you’ll find bars and restaurants galore, green spaces and pavement cafes.
