We’ve fallen head over heels for this elegant villa perched just 800 metres from the silk-sand shores of Arillas. But with sunset views over the Ionian Sea this show-stopping, can you blame us? Hit rest and reset with lazy, hazy mornings of sun worshipping on the loungers dotted around the grassed lawns and bobbing about the blue infinity pool. Then break up the day and beat the midday heat beneath the shady pergola. The outdoor kitchen is primed for rustling up simple lunches of grilled seafood, fresh bread (the nearby traditional Greek bakery can help with that), and chilled Retsina on the side. If you feel a post-lunch slumber coming on, head indoors to have a cheeky siesta in the free-flowing, light-filled living space united by restful interiors. Or sneak away upstairs to one of the private balconies of the sea-facing bedrooms for some quiet time with a good book – the panoramas are magnificent from up here.
