Luxuriate in its open-feeling spaces that are filled with Southern European sunshine, savouring welcome moments of stillness over a cup of freshly brewed aromatic coffee, or whilst pouring over the pages of a great book (or pouring the vino). No matter what the perfect city break looks like to you, or indeed whether you're travelling with friends, family, or that special someone – or for business or pleasure – this place offers a comfortable Pied à Terre with something for everyone. And that's all within the walls of this home. Step outside and you'll be confronted by a wealth of cultural attractions, including the National Archaeological Museum, the Lázaro Galdiano, the Juan March Foundation and the Madrid WiZink Center, among a whole host of vibrant tapas bars and plenty of cool bars that keep Madrid's nightlife effervescing until the early hours. You'll also find boutiques of the most prestigious national and international designers as Ortega y Gasset Street is known as Madrid's Golden Mile of fashion. Talk about... being spoilt for choice...

Local guide
About Salamanca
Salamanca is Madrid’s most glamorous and prestigious quarter. Usually associated with aristocratic façades, wide avenues, and luxurious living (atypical for Madrid’s cosy centre), the neighbourhood attracts domestic and international elite. It’s also home to many embassies and private schools, as well as niche museums and designer boutiques along its ‘Golden Mile’. The demanding clientele has made the food scene equally exclusive, but while you’re likely to find quite a few Michelin-star restaurants in the area, there are lots of relaxed tapas bars for those less willing to splash the cash.
