This beautiful villa is in pretty Colvalenza, just a few kilometres from the historic town of Todi. From its position on top of a hill, this villa boasts magnificent views of the Umbrian valley and its hills and vineyards. It’s within an estate with an educational farm and a winery, so there’s something to keep everyone entertained. Not that you’ll be short of things to keep you occupied here. With tennis and boules courts, a gym and table tennis, you’re never short of things to do. If you prefer a more sedate pace on holiday, you’ll likely spend most of your time around the heart-shaped pool. Swim beneath a bright blue sky and laze in the sun, feeling the stress leave your body. The villa is traditional in style, with all the comforts you long for on holiday. As you’d expect from an Italian home, there’s a real focus on communal dining here – we particularly love the outside dining area. Whip up pizzas on the wood-fired oven, and sit out late beneath the vine-covered pergola drinking wine and feasting. This is what holidays are all about.

With steep, twisting lanes, underground Roman tunnels and three-ringed city walls, history oozes from every nook and...
