Standing tall on opposite sides of a stately courtyard, these two 17th-century homes exemplify palatial elegance. With one housing four guests and the other housing eight, this is perfect for family reunions or big groups looking to explore all that Oxford offers. After late-morning lie-in’s in the beautiful suites – think chandeliers, panelled walls, and corniced ceilings – you can come together in the courtyard to sit down for an alfresco breakfast. Venture out into Oxford, starting with the Castle on the opposite street before walking to the iconic university and stopping off at museums, cafes and shops. Evenings can be spent dining out at one of the many surrounding restaurants or seeing a show at the theatre. Upon returning, pour a glass of wine for the last bit of socialising under the stars. From there, treat yourself to a bubblebath before getting comfortable on the sofa with your favourite movie. The writers might want to call dibs on one of the suites with its own study. After a day in the medieval city, inspiration might strike, prompting you to write a midnight poem about “the city of dreaming spires”.
