The fact that you can see Edinburgh Castle out of the window of this apartment gives you an idea of just how good the location is. However, this prime spot in the New Town isn't the only thing we like about the home. Granted, it's what is sometimes euphemistically referred to as 'compact' with a kitchenette that's only really suitable for modest meals, but that's not necessarily a problem if you're not planning on using it as much more than a base camp from which to explore the Scottish capital. The colour scheme is warm and cosy, while the sleek bathroom is easy on the eye. You're treated to lots of natural light from the big bay window and there are enough comfy furnishings for a couple or solo traveller to be content. When it comes to seeing a little more of the city, you're covered for restaurants and bars in the surrounding New Town, while many of the must-see attractions are easily reachable on foot – the Scottish National Gallery is about ten minutes' walk away and the Old Town is another five minutes on top of that.

About New Town

Edinburgh’s New Town isn’t new at all – it’s a glorious example of 18th-century Georgian town planning and architecture that has rightfully earned its UNESCO World Heritage Status. There’s a lot more than beautiful architecture on offer here though. Located in the centre of the city, it’s a short walk from Waverley Station, and well serviced by public transport. Princes Street, George Street, St Andrew’s Square, and the West End...
