This fabulous villa was originally built by the father of Dusan Popov, one of the most famous double agents of World War II. Popov, who lived in the villa as a child, was the original inspiration for Ian Fleming’s James Bond – we’d be serving Martinis on our first night for sure. When you’re not boasting about the history of the house, you’ll be revelling in the lush outside space – the heart of which is the private outdoor pool. Gorgeous views can be admired from every angle, whether you’re swimming a few laps, sunbathing on the lawn, or cooking on the barbecue. The home is spread over the main house, a studio apartment, and a guest house, so this is an ideal choice for a multi-generational family or a big group of friends. There are plenty of quiet corners for you to enjoy when you want a moment of peace and quiet. The villa is on the Lapad peninsula, just 4 kilometres from the walls of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Sunset Beach is just 800 metres away, and the ferry ride from Dubrovnik to Lokrum – one of the best swimming spots in Croatia – takes ten minutes. You’re perfectly...

About Dubrovnik

Wandering the time-worn stone streets of Dubrovnik’s walled Old Town, you can see why location scouts chose it as the backdrop for epic fantasy series and films. Narrow alleyways remain unchanged for centuries, save for intimate wine bars and gourmet restaurants moving into former armouries, grain stores and monasteries.
