Grab an authentic taste of Umbria with a stay at this family-run agricultural estate. One of a handful of apartments spread across two beautifully converted farmhouses, the swimming pool and wider grounds fringed by age-old olive groves are shared – but that alfresco dining area is all yours. Inside, it’s all exposed beams, open fires, and terracotta floors – just how it should be. Though if we were being super picky, we’d say the kitchen is compact, albeit charming. Channel your inner Nonna culinary skills instead over at the host’s farmhouse – they organise regular cooking classes and harvest olive oil. And, of course, there are always Umbria's surrounding villages for traditional trattoria meals – all just a short drive away.

About Umbria

Sometimes overshadowed by neighbouring Tuscany, Umbria has so much to offer in its own right. Here, you’ll find Assisi, best known as the birthplace of St Francis, Perugia, with its famous Palazzo dei Priori, the cliff-top town of Orvieto, and Gubbio, home to the Iguvine Tablets. While its urban areas offer Medieval architecture, charming piazzas and excellent restaurants aplenty, it’s the countryside for which you really visit Umbria. The region...
